Brief Biography:
Jamie was born and raised in Escondido, California. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. After graduation in 2002, Jamie moved to Washington DC to briefly pursue a career in Actuarial Science. In October of 2003, Jamie began a 2 year service with the United States Peace Corps. She served in the small island nation of Vanuatu as a secondary school math teacher and primary school teacher trainer. Jamie was also very active in community health projects while in Vanuatu, which lead to her interest in public health.
